John Watson, Pulpit Minister
John began preaching the word of God in October, 2005 when he accepted the role of youth minister at the River Road Church of Christ in Albany, GA. While serving the church as the youth minister, John developed an abstinence program that annually served over 1500 students in the Dougherty County school system as well as 150 students in an after school setting. John has traveled the United States as a consultant with World Vision, training community and faith based organizations on best practices in reaching the at risk youth of today’s society. John has carried the message as a motivational speaker to Kenya and Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban, and Port Elizabeth, South Africa.
John has a Bachelor’s in Psychology from Liberty University and is currently finishing his Master’s in Divinity at Mercer University. John Watson is married to Nakisha L. Watson. They have two wonderful boys: Dewayne and Jonathan. John and his family currently reside in Lakeland, Florida. He is a fun loving father who adores his wife and humbly serves and follows his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Andrew Weaver, Youth and Family Minister
Andrew graduated from Freed-Hardeman University in 2014 with a Bachelor’s in Biblical Studies. Upon graduation, Andrew served as the Youth and family minister at the Rockledge Church of Christ in Rockledge, Florida. Before coming to Highlands, Andrew served alongside his wife, Tiffany as full-time missionaries in the Dominican Republic with Manna Global Ministries. While with Manna, Andrew worked with the church planting ministry, taught Bible classes at Manna Christian School, and directed a children’s ministry designed to develop children who display the Biblical character traits of Jesus Christ.
Andrew is originally from Orlando, Florida and graduated from Mt. Dora Christian Academy in 2010. Andrew Has served as a camp week coordinator at Central Florida Bible Camp since 2012. Andrew is married to Tiffany Weaver, who is currently serving as the Children’s Ministry Coordinator here at Highlands. Andrew and Tiffany currently reside in Lakeland, Florida. Andrew loves to have fun and to help students develop a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.
Tiffany Weaver, Children's Ministry Coordinator
Tiffany is from Florence, Alabama.and graduated from Freed-Hardeman University in 2013 with her Bachelor's in Social Work. In July of 2014 Tiffany moved to the Dominican Republic to server as a full-time missionary there with Manna Global Ministries. Tiffany served in the Dominican for three and a half year, two of those years with her husband, Andrew. With Manna, Tiffany served in a variety of ministries. She was the social worker with the childern's home there, taught a variety of classes at Manna Christian School, mentored 5-10 female students, and directed a children's ministry with her husband Andrew.
Tiffany is married to Andrew Weaver, the Youth and Family minister here at Highlands. As mentioned previously, Tiffany and Andrew server together for two year in the Dominican Republic and really enjoy ministry alongside another. Just in case you saw the "Alabama" and was curious, she does say Roll Tide on Saturdays in the fall.
Wanda Walmsley, Church Secretary
Wanda has been an active member of the Highlands family for more than 30 years. She and her husband, Bob, have been married for 41 years. They have three married children and have been blessed with nine precious grandchildren. Wanda is a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She worked for five years at the Highlands Christian Preschool and then served as the secretary here at Highlands from 1994 to 1999. As grandchildren began to arrive, she committed her time to care for them during the day while their parents worked. Wanda's greatest desire is to serve God by serving others.
