Highlands takes the simple approach to worship time. Simple, but not simplistic. We seek depth in our search of scripture and intensity in our relationship with God. We note, however, that Jesus came to earth, not in flowing vestments and with verbose speech, but as a common person who related to common people as he connected them with an uncommon God. We believe that his church should reflect this attitude, so if you’re looking for the best "show in town," you might not find it here.
You can expect to find all kinds of people from every walk of life in every life situation from every socio-economic level. Some will be wearing blue jeans, a few in coat and tie and many somewhere in between. We try not to be focused on the externals so much as the internals. We desire to build our times together in such a way that every attendee is a participant. Our singing is congregational and without instrumental accompaniment. We celebrate the resurrection of Jesus every Sunday in taking the Lord's Supper. We read scripture publicly and the sermons are directed toward life application and things that will draw us closer to God and each another.
Ours is an uncomplicated, user-friendly and Christ-centered atmosphere.
